The “SUPolo World Series” has created the National
SUPolo League (NSPL) for the purpose of promoting club
SUPolo and developing the sport by way of competitive
matches within a league table.
Overview: -
-
Teams will compete with
each other to qualify for the NSPL “Battle of the Thames”
Tournament in June and the NSPL “Masters” Tournament in
September each year.

The teams in the NSPL will
compete against each other in the league.All teams will
compete under the SUPolo World Series rules found at
https://www.windsurfer.co.uk/World-Series-SUPolo-Rules.pdf

A club may enter more than
one team into the NSPL subject to availability.

Regional Leagues: If
required, we have the ability to develop and administer
regional leagues such as
North, Midlands, South West, South, South East, Scotland,
Wales. if required.

a)
The official NSPL
Arena Pitch in Surbiton every second Saturday throughout
the season;

Any suitable SUPolo
arena mutually agreed between the participating teams |

“World Series SUPolo” and
“National SUPolo League” matches and activities which
take place at the
Thames Sailing Club
are administered by Blue Chip on behalf of the Thames
Sailing Club. |

The Mid-Summer “Battle of
the Thames” Tournaments are for all levels of SUPolo |
·
The Late Summer “Masters”
Tournaments are for all levels of SUPolo |
·
“The
Novice Teams” – These are teams
with little or no tournament experiences |
·
“The
Gladiator Teams” - These are the tournament
experienced teams |
·
Any home or away venue with
a suitable pitch or a pitch agreed with both Team
Managers. |

Points are awarded within
the league on the following basis: - |
a)
3 points for a win |
b)
1 point for a draw |
c)
0 points for a loss |

Mid-Summer “Battle of the
Thames” Tournament Day: -

The Battle of the Thames Tournament is the first SUPolo tournament of the year where teams have the opportunity to test their match plays against similar level teams .

BOTT will be held annually in the
NSPL Arena Pitch at TSC in early June each year as set out
in the date schedule below

BOTT is a fun SUPolo competition with the emphasis on FUN
Novice Tournaments: -

Novice match play mini tournaments will be held on an “ad hock” basis on the Saturday Training sessions.

Novice Match Play games will be coached by experienced players
-
Novice Match Play games will have the emphasis on FUN as well as building experience and confidence
Late Summer “Masters” Tournament Day: -
> If a club has more than one
team finishing in the top 6 of the league, that club must elect
just one team to represent them in the tournament.
> If a team is not able to enter a tournament, the next highest
placed team in the NSPL will be invited to take part in the
tournament.

operate with a minimum of 2 qualifying Regions

A minimum of 3 NSPL registered
teams are required to qualify as a NSPL Regional League
